Once again Robert Oxley, well known for his psychedelic colour, intricate detail and fluid expressive brushwork has captured the wonderful playful nature of these beautiful cows. A regular sight in the countryside around where Robert lives, he sees them grazing in all weathers and currently enjoying the spring grass with calves close by. With such an inquisitive , playful and occasionally boisterous nature, they are beautiful to watch.
Oxley’s dripping paint technique involves applying paint to canvas by allowing it to drip and flow, this method creates spontaneous, abstract patterns and textures, adding a sense of unpredictability and excitement to the artwork controlled by the artists movements. This unpredictability is central to the technique as it reflects Oxley’s spontaneity and freedom in the creative process, resulting in a dynamic and highly intuitive artwork.
