An old-school character with a thoroughly modern attitude.
Robert Oxley’s The Red Plumber brings a familiar red-capped character into a world of vivid colour, flowing paint and larger-than-life expression.
With brilliant blue eyes, exaggerated features and an abundance of dripping detail, the artwork playfully reimagines the visual language of gaming nostalgia through a contemporary pop-art lens.
The Metro Edition offers a fresh way to enjoy the work.
Rather than a traditional stretched canvas, the artwork is printed onto canvas bonded to a rigid board, creating a clean, flat presentation. A smart black frame provides a sharp contrast to the brightly coloured image, while the 45mm-deep profile gives the piece a substantial presence on the wall.
At 16″ × 14″, it’s ideal for smaller spaces, home offices, gaming rooms and contemporary gallery walls.
The compact format also makes it particularly attractive as a matching pair with The Green Plumber.
